Cold

Cold is a disease, which is caused by infection by 1 from over 200 viruses, which can be reason for its appearance. The main symptoms that characterize this disease are sore throat, chronic runny nose with clear nasal discharge or stuffy nose and cough. The degree of exhaustion of the organism is mild to moderate. Duration of the disease is from 7 to 10 days.

Flu

Flu represents serious and widely-spread infection of respiratory pathways. The disease is with high contagiousness and its rate increases among population worldwide. Flu viruses are characterized by different pathogenicity and cause yeary epidemics in many countries, including Bulgaria. Flu viruses also cause dangerous for population pandemics worldwide. Flu is reason for significant morbidity of the human organism, arising from serious immunological damages of the lungs. The disease appears seasonally during winter months in countries with moderate climate, such as Bulgaria. Flu is spread from person to person through caugh, sneezing or contact with contaminated surfaces. There are three large groups or types of the influenza virus known, which are classified as type A, type B and type C.
